Physical Fitness Programs

Physical fitness programs cover gym time, PT, and obstacle-course work. They raise the three physical abilities, improve physical saves and skills, and add specialist conditioning for running, climbing, and soaking damage.

Weight Training 1-4

Hypertrophy and strength work. Each level increases your Strength score by 1 (respecting your racial or class maximum).

Agility Training 1-4

Coordination, sprint drills, and reaction work. Each level increases your Dexterity score by 1 (respecting your racial or class maximum).

Fortitude Training 1-4

Conditioning and durability. Each level increases your Constitution score by 1 (respecting your racial or class maximum).

Physical Saves Training 1-4

Each level may be taken once per save (STR, DEX, or CON).

Focused work on resisting a specific kind of physical threat. Pick a save when you first take Level 1; further levels apply to that same save. Take the track again from Level 1 for a different save.

  • Level 1: Proficiency in the chosen save.
  • Level 2: +1 to that save.
  • Level 3: An additional +1 to that save (total +2 from this track).
  • Level 4: Advantage on that save.

Physical Skills Training 1-5

Each level may be taken once per skill.

Drills for a specific physical skill. Pick a skill when you first take Level 1; further levels apply to that same skill. Take the track again from Level 1 for a different skill.

Eligible skills: Athletics, Acrobatics, Sleight of Hand, or Stealth.

  • Level 1: Proficiency in the chosen skill.
  • Level 2: +1 to checks with that skill.
  • Level 3: Once per long rest, reroll a critical failure (natural 1) on a check with that skill.
  • Level 4: An additional +1 to checks (total +2).
  • Level 5: The reroll is instead available once per short rest.

Cardio Training 1-4

Endurance running and sustained-pace work. Increases overall mobility.

  • Level 1: Proficiency in Athletics. If already proficient, gain Expertise instead (double proficiency bonus).
  • Level 2: +5 ft to your base movement.
  • Level 3: Take the Dash action as a bonus action.
  • Level 4: An additional +5 ft to your base movement (total +10 ft from this track).

Obstacle Course Training 1-4

Navigating rough terrain: walls, ditches, doorways, broken ground. Makes you cheaper to move through three-dimensional space.

  • Level 1: Climbing does not cost extra movement.
  • Level 2: Standing up from prone costs only 10 ft of movement (down from half your speed).
  • Level 3: You need only a 5 ft running start (instead of 10 ft) to perform a running long or high jump.
  • Level 4: Add +1d4 to all Acrobatics and Athletics checks.

Resistance Training 1-6

Deliberate exposure to specific hazards - cold tubs, heat, electric work, shock drills - plus additional conditioning. Odd levels grant typed resistance; even levels add durability.

  • Levels 1, 3, 5: Gain resistance to one damage type of your choice (picked when that level is taken). See Damage Types.
  • Levels 2, 4, 6: Your maximum HP increases by an amount equal to your character level. (Each even level of this track adds this bonus once.)
