Armor Proficiency Programs¶
Armor programs teach an operator how to wear and fight in increasingly heavy protective gear. Each track covers one weight class; the weight classes are defined by the soft-vest and plate combinations in Armor. You must be proficient in a given class of armor to wear it without penalty (disadvantage on STR/DEX checks and saves, attack rolls, and half movement).
"Expertise" on a save, as used below, means you add double your proficiency bonus instead of the normal single bonus.
Light Armor Training 1-4¶
Training for Concealable Vests and Light Plate Carriers: how to move quickly in soft armor without it slowing you down.
- Level 1: Proficiency in Light armor.
- Level 2: +1 AC while wearing Light armor.
- Level 3: Expertise on Dexterity saves while wearing Light armor.
- Level 4: An additional +1 AC while wearing Light armor (total +2 from this track).
Medium Armor Training 1-4¶
Training for Medium Flak / IBA-class rigs: learning to carry weight without losing wind.
- Level 1: Proficiency in Medium armor.
- Level 2: Gain bonus HP equal to your proficiency bonus while wearing Medium armor.
- Level 3: Expertise on Constitution saves while wearing Medium armor.
- Level 4: Bonus HP equal to twice your proficiency bonus while wearing Medium armor (replaces Level 2).
Heavy Armor Training 1-4¶
Training for fully-loaded flak and EOD-grade kit. Teaches you to turn the armor itself into a weapon - soaking hits with the plates rather than dodging them.
- Level 1: Proficiency in Heavy armor.
- Level 2: +1 DR for each piece of coverage on your armor (see Coverage column in Armor).
- Level 3: Expertise on Strength saves while wearing Heavy armor.
- Level 4: An additional +1 DR per piece of coverage (total +2 per piece from this track).
