Tech Specialist

Proficiencies gained:

  • Level 1 training in Weapon Proficiency Training: Sub Machine Guns, Shotguns.
  • Save Training Level 1 in Intelligence Saves.
  • One level of training in Technology and Investigation.
  • B1ARD Kit (Tools) - B-1 Advanced Recon Drone toolkit; the diagnostic kit, spare parts, micro-tools, and firmware loader used to field-service the B1-RD. Proficiency covers repair, upgrade installation, rotor and optics replacement, software reflashing, and battery management.

B-1 Recon Drone Operator (3rd)

Gain a B-1 Advanced Recon Drone (B1-RD) if you don't have one, and:

  • Mark one target within 120 ft of the B1-RD; ranged attacks against it have advantage.
  • +5 to Repair rolls for a B1-RD.

During a long rest, modify your drone with a Technology (Int) DC 15 check. Pass = one upgrade. Fail = no upgrade, retry next rest. Critical fail = drone unusable until next long rest.

  • Night Vision: Darkvision 120 ft, low-light 240 ft.
  • Thermal: Advantage spotting living creatures; disadvantage on all other sight perception rolls.
  • Focused Microphone: Hear through drone via headphones or speaker.
  • Pistol Mount: Mount a pistol on the drone. If you moved no more than 60 ft, make 1 ranged attack using operator DEX + Proficiency.
  • Stealth Kit: Advantage on Stealth rolls while operating.
  • Armor Kit: AC now 18.
  • Structural Support: +HP equal to your level.

Tech Package (7th)

You gain:

  • 3× Motion Sensors: 2-inch, 4 mm thick discs that ping every 6 seconds when detecting movement within 20 ft. Bonus action to activate. Last 24 hours.
  • 2× Seeker Grenades: Sticky grenade requiring no attack so long as it can roll; moves 40 ft and self-detonates after 10 rounds.
  • 5× Audio Bugs: 1 cm microphones letting you hear within 20 ft. Bonus action to place. Last 8 hours.

Specialization (10th)

Choose one of the following specializations.

Drone Operator

Your B1-RD becomes an Enhanced B1-RD (E B1-RD):

  • Mark targets equal to your INT bonus with your E B1-RD.
  • The E B1-RD may have 2 Upgrades active at once.

Signals Specialist

As a bonus action, jam enemy radio and digital comms within 60 ft for a number of rounds equal to your Proficiency bonus. Uses per long rest equal to your Intelligence modifier. You may intercept radio traffic within 1 mile with a Technology check. You have advantage on Technology checks to hack electronic locks, and may disable a hostile drone within 60 ft by winning an opposed Intelligence check against its operator.

Hacker

With access to a target device or its network, breach a computer, phone, or security system with a Technology check (DC set by GM). You may plant persistent access that lets you reconnect later without re-hacking. As an action, disable all networked cameras and electronic sensors within 120 ft for 1 minute.

MacGyver (15th)

With a Drone Repair Kit, create or maintain basic Tech devices in the field - audio bugs, basic comms, fixing a radio, etc. (GM approval; Technology check, DC by GM). Your B1-RD gains 1 permanent upgrade.

Tech Master (18th)

  • No movement test needed with your B1-RD.
  • Double Proficiency bonus on all DEX saves and checks with the B1-RD.
  • Advantage on all Tech checks.
